We are looking for a skilled Network Security Specialist to join the Network Infrastructure Team and help strengthen the security of a complex and highly automated industrial environment. You’ll play a vital role in securing large-scale production networks, ensuring smooth operations while minimizing interruptions in a 24/7 setting.

Your day-to-day in the role:

• Implement and manage the security framework across production networks.

• Configure, monitor, and maintain firewalls and other network security products.

• Analyze communication flows and protocols in industrial environments.

• Take ownership of planning and executing network security projects.

• Collaborate closely with infrastructure colleagues, application managers, engineers, and technicians to keep production secure and stable.

• Use tools such as Wireshark and PRTG to analyze and monitor network performance.

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT/networking.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Solid knowledge of Cisco switches, routers, and core network technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols).

• Familiarity with industrial protocols such as PROFINET.

• Hands-on experience with network segmentation, firewalls, and IPS.

• Experience with Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, etc.) is a strong plus.

• Team player with strong communication skills and a proactive mindset.

• Fluent in Dutch and English.

• Able to commute easily to the Ghent site, 2 days per week.
